As a domain architect for AI, you will lead the business-driven transition towards real benefits from artificial intelligence, from generative AI and decision support to predictive models. You will ensure that processes, data, and technology are interconnected and link vision and goals to concrete solutions that are safe, ethical, and sustainable over time. We are based in our offices at Medicon Village in Lund.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will own and develop the domain architecture for AI within Region Skåne. This means creating target images, principles, reference architecture, and guidelines that govern how AI is used in a uniform and efficient manner across the region. You will translate the needs of the business into governing decisions and practical solutions, from business processes and data needs to model selection, risk management, and implementation. A key part of the work is to connect business, IT/MT, and suppliers by leading assessments, driving matters in the Architecture Council, and ensuring links to portfolio management and benefit realization. You will also ensure that AI is used responsibly by integrating ethics, information security, data protection, and human oversight according to the AI regulation and Region Skåne's governance. The role involves close collaboration with key competencies in AI, such as data scientists, AI strategists, and development units, as well as with business architects and strategists. Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating, owning, and communicating target architecture for AI within the region, including solutions, information, and infrastructure, as well as developing reusable patterns (e.g., RAG, prompt management, and guardrails) for various use cases.
• Developing a categorization language and management for AI within the region, focusing on different types of AI, use cases, and data protection needs.
• Collaborating with SDI to ensure robust, legal, purposeful, and future-proof data supply, standards, and data sharing for AI solutions.
• Driving architectural decisions and reviews in the Architecture Council and quality assuring materials for directional decisions, consultations, and portfolio decisions.
• Ensuring compliance with the AI regulation, including risk classification, human oversight, and data documentation, as well as GDPR and other public sector requirements.
• Supporting programs and projects with target images, implementation plans, and impact monitoring, including measuring and following up on benefits in the business.
• Being responsible for environmental monitoring and collaboration in AI networks at the regional and national level, as well as feeding back lessons learned to the domain's governing artifacts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with an academic degree or equivalent experience in data/AI, systems science, technology, or business development combined with other education. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Additionally, you must have:

• At least three years of experience with AI solutions, including significant experience with generative AI (LLM/RAG, prompt techniques, evaluation) and other AI methods (ML, NLP, CV, prediction, optimization).
• A documented and strong ability to structure complexity and communicate clearly to management and the business.
• Experience with architectural methods (target architectures, principles, reference architectures) and leading cross-functional workshops and decisions.
• A burning interest in the field of AI.

In addition, the following are meritorious:

• Experience in the public sector, healthcare, or similar regulated environments, including experience with public procurement.
• Experience collaborating with or working in areas such as information security or data protection (e.g., risk analyses according to the AI regulation, DPIA, classification).
• Experience in architectural governance, service-oriented delivery, or portfolio management.
• Experience with various AI platforms, both on-premises and cloud-based, custom-built or packaged by vendors.

As a person, you are pedagogical, clear in your communication, and able to explain to individuals who are more or less familiar with IT. In your work, you are self-driven and have a very good ability to collaborate and be responsive, making it easy for you to understand the needs of the business. It should also come naturally to you to think strategically and long-term, and to align the architecture with the region's overall strategy and objectives. Your working style is characterized by a clear focus on delivery and the ability to drive and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
